6 hard drives inside the Mac Pro Photos of install

OK this was pretty darn easy to do

I will post a updated article with more pics and also a way to use a adapter to just have two external SATA ports in the near future

sorry for the bad pics and write up I did this super quick and just wanted to get it up for a few people that have been asking me

hope it helps :)
Parts were 2 y adapters for power and one 9 inch extension
take the Y adapter and install it on one of the molex connectors that would be for the 2nd optical drive then plug the extenison into that and route it down as in photos you can see it just fits behind the other cable holder then put on the 2nd Y adapter to plug power into the 2 extra HDs

SATA ports 1

SATA 2

in the above photo you can see the one screw near the top of the fan housing loosen this and take it out BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP IT this will give you some more room to get the cables onto the connectors on the MB. I used a needle nose to help get the cables put on as it is a tight squeeze. Also note I did not need any special angled connectors the straight ones I had worked fine !
HD holder

in the above photo you can see I just put the HDs into a cut down drive holder out of a old computer case I had ? forgot what it was but you can find drive cages of dif kinds that might work

I tried to put them below the other two rear drives but there was not enough room for the cables !

this is a temp fix and I am sure I will just use a ESATA box that holds two drives most likely the firmtek one so I can swap out the drives when I want

a few notes when using Bootcamp the windows side does not see the ports ? not sure why or if this will be fixed in future or not but at this point oh well ;)
